The Physics of Love by ~darkrune:icondarkrune:

First off, we will define love as an attraction between two people.

Now, following the laws of physics, we know that there exists a force between any two given masses and that force is often called gravity.
This force causes the two objects to be attracted to each other, and so, we shall also call this force “love”.

The formula for this attraction is:

FG = Gravitational Constant x ((mass1 x mass2)/distance between the two masses^2)

So, for our purposes it’ll be:

FLove = Gravitational Constant x ((Me x Elizabeth)/distance between us^2)

Now, for this example, I shall use myself, and my friend Elizabeth.

I weigh in at about 125lbs and she is about 140lbs ish.  We’ll use the approximate conversion rate of 2.2, giving us:

Me = 56.8182kg    Elizabeth = 63.6364kg.

The Gravitational Constant is 6.67x10^-11.

At this moment, she is about 11km away from where I am:

distance between us = 11km = 11000m

So, let’s plug that in:

FLove = 6.67x10^-11 x ((56.8182kg x 63.6364kg)/11000m^2)

Pull out the handy-dandy calculator, and we find that we love each other this much:

1.99312E-15

However, let’s say that she suddenly appeared...a meter right next to me:

FLove = 6.67x10^-11 x ((56.8182kg x 63.6364kg)/1m^2)

Our attraction is now at 2.41167E-7  BAM! We now love each other 121000000 times as much as we did before!
...and yet, even with this, she has racked two days ago and cannot bear the thought that I may be attracted to her.

And this, my friends, is why long distance relationships (especially if we had one) will never work.

But wait!  What if both Elizabeth and I suddenly gained a ton of weight?  Say….44kg (20lbs)  each:

FLove = 6.67x10^-11 x (((56.8182kg + 44kg) x (63.6364kg + 44kg))/11000m^2)

Our love is now 3.00127, 3 times what it used to be!

So, obviously, fat people love each other more, and if you DO want to sustain a long distance relationship, you must gain as much weight as you possibly can.  If Elizabeth and I wanted to maintain our love at 1m away from 11km apart, we would have to gain 661378kg each!  That’s 1455031.6lbs!

So, if you are in a long distance relationship, either let it go, or eat up!

WOW....you are so smart, I never would have thought of that! ;) There's a reason I nearly failed Geometry...all those damn proofs...all I proved is that Girls are Evil, but my teacher didn't accept that on my final test...

You're already learning this stuff? We didn't learn about this until the end of the year in my physics class.
